PAST & PRESENT MEMBERS:

From the humble beginnings in 1988 in the North Shore area of East Houston to the present day, this ministry owes a debt of gratitude to Jehovah God who sustained us and to the excellent musicians, songwriters and ministers that HE brought our way. This "thing" was only supposed to last about 6 months, but it never stopped. Therefore, it is only fitting and proper that we list those who mean so much to this ministry...

OUR BACKSTORY 

 Blues2Joy is a group of seven Christian musicians who create original, faith-based songs with unique styles, including doo-wop, ballads, R&B, and even reggae. Founded in 1988 by Ron Hathaway and Jim Massey, the band began as a Christian outreach ministry, performing in places like apartments, parks, shelters, jails, and prisons.

Joined by Mike Wilson, Mike Pierce, Rob Harper, Robbie Adams, and Mike Huss, the band shares a passion for evangelism through contemporary music. With over 45 years of combined experience, they’ve performed alongside artists like B.J. Thomas, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, and The Kingsmen.

Blues2Joy partners with churches, shelters, and prisons, while also reaching nontraditional groups like refugee camps, motorcycle clubs, car shows, and drag racing events.

THE PRESENT VISION

Blues2Joy Has Now Entered a New Phase of Ministry... 

 We are committed to sharing Bible resources and outreach. Our site offers helpful links, webcasts, and specialized teachings providing answers to life’s challenges.

We also run 'B2J Hope Radio,' an internet radio outreach available right here on our website. Our mission is to bring the world HOPE through faith in Jesus Christ, sharing His love and promise from Jeremiah 29:11: 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
